Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Felt Fabric: Yellow, Orange, Green, and Brown

  • Turkey Pattern Pieces: Download the Free Pattern Here

  • Glue: Hot Glue Gun recommended

  • Googly Eyes: 1 pair

  • Polyester Stuffing

  • Embroidery Needle

  • Embroidery Floss: Yellow, Orange, Green, and Brown

  • Scissors

  • Pins or Marker

Step-by-Step Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pattern Pieces
Print out the pattern, then cut out each piece.

  2. Cut the Felt Pieces

    • Large Feathers: Pin to two layers of orange felt and cut.

    • Medium Feathers: Pin to two layers of yellow felt and cut.

    • Small Feathers: Pin to two layers of green felt and cut.

    • Body: Pin to two layers of brown felt and cut.

  3. Whipstitch & Stuff
Using your embroidery needle and matching floss, whipstitch each pair of feathers and the body together, leaving a 2-inch opening for stuffing. (See the whipstitch guide below if you need a refresher!)

  4. Add Stuffing & Finish
Gently stuff each piece with polyester filling until plump, then finish stitching the opening. Tie off securely to close.

  5. Face Features

    • Glue on the googly eyes to bring your turkey’s face to life!

    • Cut a small yellow felt triangle for the beak, and a waddle from orange felt. Glue the waddle to the top of the beak, then glue the beak onto the turkey’s face.

  6. Feet
Pin the feet pattern to one layer of brown felt, cut, and glue the feet to the bottom of the turkey body.

  7. Assemble the Feathers

    • Attach the Large Feathers: Hot glue the large orange feathers to the medium yellow feathers, aligning the bottoms.

    • Attach the Small Feathers: Hot glue the small green feathers to the yellow ones, aligning the bottoms.

  8. Attach the Body
Position the turkey body over the feathers, lining up the bottoms, and glue to secure.

And voilà! Your handmade felt turkey is ready to add some extra charm to your holiday table. Enjoy the compliments and have a fantastic Thanksgiving!
