❄️ Supply List

Here’s what you’ll need for your snowman masterpiece:

  • Burlap fabric (for snowman body)

  • Polyester stuffing

  • Black felt (for hat)

  • Red felt (for scarf)

  • Crinkle edge scissors (for a textured scarf edge; regular scissors work too!)

  • Brown pipe cleaners (or real twigs for arms!)

  • Buttons (for face and body)

  • Hot glue gun

  • Sand and a sandwich bag (to weigh down your snowman)

❄️ Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Snowman Body

  1. Cut the Body: Pin the snowman body pattern to double-layered burlap fabric, and cut along the line (pattern includes a ½” seam).

  2. Stitch It Together: Pin the pieces right sides together and stitch along the seam line, leaving the bottom open.

  3. Stuff and Weigh: Fill with polyester stuffing. For extra stability, fill a plastic sandwich bag with sand (or kitty litter), seal tightly, and place it inside.

  4. Secure the Base: Cut the base piece from burlap, pin to the bottom of the body, and hand-stitch securely (burlap edges can fray, so double stitching helps!).

2. The Hat 🎩

  1. Cut and Assemble: Pin and cut one each of the hat base and top pieces from black felt, and cut two rim pieces (including the inner circle).

  2. Make the Rim: Stitch rim pieces together along the outer seam, right sides facing (1/4” seam), then reverse right side out.

  3. Assemble Hat Base: With the base piece right sides together, stitch side A to side B, and reverse it right side out.

  4. Attach Rim to Base: Pin and stitch the rim to the base by hand along the inner edge, right sides together.

  5. Add the Hat Top: Pin and stitch the hat top to the base top, then reverse.

  6. Stuff the Hat: Fill with a little stuffing so it holds shape on the snowman’s head.

3. Make the Scarf 🧣

  1. Cut the Scarf: Cut a 24” x 1” strip of red felt.

  2. Add Texture: Use crinkle edge scissors for a playful, textured edge (or regular scissors for a straight edge).

4. Craft the Arms and Nose

  • Arms: Twist two brown pipe cleaners for each arm, adding smaller pieces for "branches" if you like. You can also use twigs for a more natural look!

  • Nose: Pin and cut an orange felt triangle, stitch sides A and B, then reverse. Fold ½” in at the open end, stuff lightly, and you’ve got a cute little carrot nose!

❄️ Assemble Your Snowman ⛄️

  1. Attach Arms: Cut tiny slits on each side of the snowman’s body for the arms. Insert and secure with hot glue.

  2. Face and Body: Glue buttons for the face and body—have fun with expressions!

  3. Add the Nose: Hot glue around the open end of the nose and press it onto the center of the face.

  4. Top It Off: Glue the hat onto your snowman’s head, then wrap the scarf around the neck for the final cozy touch.
